Our annual GFA winner’s concert - the first laureate from Sweden

Young Swedish guitarist Johannes Möller made his professional debut at age 13 and has since given over 500 concerts in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

A prizewinner in many international competitions, Möller recently took first prize at the Guitar Foundation of America International Artist Competition, perhaps the most important competition in the world. His GFA competition prize will include a 50-concert tour of the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America and China during the 2011-12 season, and a recording in the Naxos “Laureate” series.

Also a gifted composer, Möller is currently writing music for the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and for the British guitar ensemble project, Guitar Circus.

“Guitarist Johannes Möller achieved miracles with his lucid, spacious playing.”

- Stephen Pettitt, London Evening Standard

“Johannes Möller is a gifted player, and will go on to great things.”

- Colin Cooper, Classical Guitar (UK)
