About the event
A Brazilian music duo, composed by Alexandre Simon and Giselle Mascarenhas. This project stared in 2019 in Portugal, when we both were making a master's degree in music at the Aveiro University. The Duo is a classical-crossover group dedicated to perform Brazilian, classic and world music arrangement for flute and guitar. Our performance and repertoire incorporates sensibility and versatility for all musical tastes, showing a wide range of genres and own arrangements.
Giselle Mascarenhas holds a Master of Music from the University of Aveiro (UA, (UFRJ), and a Bachelor of Music Education from UCAM. She also earned technical degrees in Flute and Musical Arrangement from EMVL. As a versatile instrumentalist, she has performed with prestigious orchestras in Brazil and abroad, notably the UFRJ Symphony Orchestra (OSUFRJ), the São Gonçalo Municipal Symphony Orchestra (OMSG), the BFRJ, and FLUTUA – Portuguese Flute Orchestra.
