Luis Quintero Classical Guitar Concert

Luis Quintero Santamaria, one of the masters of the Venezuelan school of guitarists, studied in Caracas

at the “José Angel Lamas” School of Music, and in New York at the Juilliard School in the class of Sharon

Isbin. He has performed as soloist on stages in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Africa, and

has been guest artist at such events as the third Ibero-American Guitar Festival in Washington, D.C., the

Guitare en France Course and Festival in Limoges, the Festival Andres Segovia in Spain and the

International Guitar Festival in Monterrey, Mexico. Quintero has appeared many times with the

Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra and has toured Europe twice as soloist with the Orquestra Sinfonica

Simón Bolivar. A specialist in the music of Latin America, his discography includes a series of four CDs

entitled Joyas Latinamericas that includes music by such masters as Antonio Lauro, Agustín Barrios,

Gentil Montaña, Rodrigo Riera and Heitor Villa-Lobos.
